Mapsource is no longer supported, so likely nothing is going to change with the program itself. Mapsource works, I should just keep using it. It seems as though BC is doing what it is supposed to, but is it completing the process? Is it telling the 276cx to look at the SD Card for maps? Is it the software in the 276cx that is not looking at the SD Card for maps? Seems to mean that is where the problem is, something is not communicating properly. I go to the 276cx, go to "configure Maps", IT ISN'T SHOWING as installed map. img files (so I assume BC did what it was supposed to do). I go through the process of transferring to the 276cx. After installing the TOPO 24k Southwest (from DVD) onto my PC, BC see's it and states it is available to transfer. NO CHANGE! I have made sure the 276cx even see's the SD Card (using the JPEG folder and JPEG test), it does.

I have tried another PC (that has never had BC on it), loaded BC 4.6.2 (supposedly the last truly working version). I have searched online until I can't even remember what I've found! What does that mean? I am 4 days into this now. So I am guessing NO ONE monitors this website, a few views, but no response. I am at "wits end", I DO NOT know what else to do. Why would I use an older program on newer hardware. That to me is completely unacceptable!! Mapsource is not supported any longer. His final response "just keep using Mapsource". I have searched the internet for 2 days now and can not find anything concerning this! I have contacted Garmin, worked with them for about an hour.

Decided when I bought the 276cx 3 months ago that I would give Basecamp a good honest try and learn it. I have used Mapsource for years with my 60csx, never an issue. it installs and shows in "Configure Maps". img file is on the sd card.Īn interesting note, I have experimented with Mapsource, and guess what. In "Explorer" it shows it has been installed. Disconnect 276cx from PC, turn it on, go to "configure maps", TOPO IS NOT THERE!!! I have done this several times. It goes through the motions building, indexing, etc.

I have used Basecamp/Mapinstall to install Topo 24k Southwest (I own the DVD) onto the 276cx. My frustration is "through the roof" on this issue!

The gmapsupp.img can also be used on Android devices with the Oruxmap app.ĭo not copy different versions of the same mapset onto micro SD card or GPS, otherwise the map will not show! Putting the map on a Micro SD card is recommended to avoid problems with booting in case of map errors. To install the Openfietsmap on your GPS, copy the gmapsupp.img to a Garmin folder on (micro)SD card or internal memory. Don't move gmapsupp.img to another place before running setup.exe because this file contains all the tiles! The old version is removed automatically. To install the Openfietsmap on the pc, unpack the zip file to a random folder and run setup.exe. This file contains a GPS version ( gmapsupp.img) to install the map directly on the GPS/SD card and also an installer (setup.exe) to install the map in Mapsource or Basecamp (Windows/PC). OpenFietsMap.zip : version for Garmin GPS units plus an installer for Basecamp/Mapsource ( Windows)
